Your Help is Needed – Milfoil Diver Spotters

We need your help to be a spotter for SCUBA divers.  Please send an email to BLIA@Beaver-Lake.org to let us know you will help the team.

The BLIA Dive Team has been actively removing milfoil totaling over 90 gallons so far this year. The official method of measurement is a 5-gallon bucket – that’s 18 buckets! There have been times when we have several divers in the water at one time.  A spotter is needed for each diver.  The role of the spotter is to 1) keep the diver safe from boaters, and 2) remove fragments of plants that float to the surface which occurs as a result of the removal process due to the fragile nature of milfoil.   Diving occurs during weekday mornings and on weekends usually from 8-10am.
