Hi everyone,
I took my boat out this morning and I just wanted to point out a couple of watchouts. Obviously the water is very low. In order to get the boat on the trailer we had to back the trailer off of the ramp. There is about an 8” drop off the ramp to the next level of rocks. This makes it really hard to get the trailer back onto the ramp after the boat is loaded. Please be careful of this. Also, because the water is so low, I had to shut down the engine, raise the motor and hand crank the boat on. Again, just something to be aware of.
As most of you know, the Town of Derry pulls the boards at the bottom of the meadow dam and lowers the lake after Columbus Day. I spoke with Alan Cote of the Derry Public Works on Friday to discuss his feelings about not pulling the dam this year. He wanted me to ask the lake residents if this is OK.
What I want to know is if anyone has any plans to do waterfront construction which would require the dam to be pulled. Please respond to blia@beaver-lake.org
Alan and I are concerned that if the drought continues the lake make stay low and that this would be exacerbated by lowering the dam. Please let us know how you feel about this.
