The ice is out, the snow has melted and it will be feeling more like Spring this week as the temperatures rise. There will soon be docks going back in and boats launched and activity all around the lake!
Spring Clean Up Day – Saturday April 21st
We will meet at the Pond Road bridge at 9am and disperse as we typically do to ensure we clean up the streets all around the lake. I would like to take this time to give special thanks to Gary Barros of Coles Grove Rd for his season long clean up efforts at the bridge. Last year Gary supplied a garbage barrel and emptied it throughout the year which has made that area much cleaner. Thank you Gary!
Annual Meeting Month & Day Change
The annual meeting will be held on Saturday July 7 at 20 Coles Grove Road. The decision to move the meeting 6 weeks earlier was made to have a kick off of the summer season with friends and neighbors. The meeting is an opportunity to educate residents, get to know one another and build community. We would like to do all of that at the beginning of the summer as opposed to the end.
Volunteer Opportunities – Water Testing, Weed Watching and Lake Hosts
Would you like to offer some of your time to help monitor Beaver Lake’s water quality, become a part of the team of weed watchers to locate milfoil or monitor the boat ramp to educate boaters and stop the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species? We can never have enough volunteers. There is training and information provided for these programs. If you are interested in learning more details or to volunteer please email BLIA@beaver-lake.org.
Oil & Propane Program
There is an opportunity for residents of Beaver Lake to receive discounted pricing through the Dead River Company which supplies both oil and propane. If there are enough residents interested in switching to Dead River and there is a certain level of projected fuel that will be consumed, then Dead River will be able to provide a lower rate for Beaver Lake residents as compared to the public. The company will do a full inspection of your tank(s) and system and will coordinate with your current supplier to arrange all the details regarding switching portable propane tanks and switching ownership for in ground tanks. Propane can currently be purchased by Beaver Lake residents for $0.50 below retail and oil $0.15 below retail. All new customers will receive a $100 account credit when signing a contract.
One of the benefits of an organization like the BLIA is our ability to negotiate favorable pricing on products our members use. We don’t recommend a particular vendor, and we don’t get any kind of payment for offering this benefit. Your relationship is the same as it would be if you found this company on the Internet, except that you pay less than the public for the same product or service. This heating program is not sponsored by or affiliated with the Beaver Lake Improvement Association.
If you would like more information, please contact Mike Lucci of North Shore Rd at 718-5581 or contact Mike Uhlman, Dead River sales representative, directly at 707-6394 (cell) or 744-5456 (office).
