Lake Hosts – Volunteers Needed

By Steven Anthony
Monday, May 18th, 2020
Greetings Beaver Lake residents!

The Beaver Lake Improvement Association (BLIA) is looking for some new enthusiastic volunteers to help with the Lake Host program at the boat ramp.

Lake Hosts volunteer at the boat ramp on Water St. as a supplement to our paid Lake Hosts.  Responsibilities include greeting boaters, inspecting boats and trailers for invasive species and educating boaters about Clean, Drain and Dry actions to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species from lake to lake.

The shifts we try to fill with volunteers are Sat and Sun mornings, 7A-9A and 9A-11A.  If we have enough volunteers, it might just be one shift a month. Training is provided.  We may provide the training remotely this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more details to come.

If the changes in life over the past few months have left you feeling uncertain about the future, help take control by giving back to the Beaver Lake community and helping us out just a few hours a month.  Please email Patty Crothers at pcrothers@comcast.net if interested.
