BLIA Annual Meeting this Saturday at 10:00AM at 24 Coles Grove Rd.

We hope everyone can attend this meeting, even if you are not a current member
of the BLIA. This is a great opportunity to gain information about Beaver Lake.
Familiarize yourself with the workings of the BLIA; meet the Board and fellow members
of the organization. Learn about the current “State of the Lake”, and become
more informed by asking questions about lake issues.

10:15 AM Keynote – Amy Smagula, Limnologist & Exotic Species Program Coordinator, NH DES

MEMBERSHIP IS DUE

Membership was due August 1st. If you have not sent in your dues yet please send it to BLIA, P.O. Box 133, East Derry, NH or bring it to the Annual Meeting. I want to thank everyone who has sent in their dues. We have had some very generous donations this year.

MILFOIL UPDATE

We had two more findings of Milfoil floating in the lake in the last couple of weeks. This is six we have found this summer. As of today we have found NO Milfoil rooted and growing in the lake but it certainly is suspicious to keep finding it. DES has surveyed the lake once already this year and found nothing rooted. Also this week our Weed Watcher leader, Dan Scharlach and his son did a thorough survey of the lake and found nothing rooted. We will continue our vigilance through the Lake Host Program and the Weed Watcher program. Thanks to Laurel Powers, Ginny Legare, Paula Frank and Anne-Marie Dudley for finding the Milfoil and keeping it from rooting.
